Katie Bridal Portrait Session

Last week I was able to go and hang out with Katie from California and her Mom Kathryn and her sister who is well into her third trimester.  Everyone is looking forward to the new addition to the family other than Jason (Katie's fiancee) right after the wedding! We went to the Cheekwood Gardens on Thursday and it was suppose to rain and it ended up being a perfect day. I was really glad we stuck to the plan sometimes it pays to be patient. We had a great time and were able to get some amazing shots before their wedding this coming weekend. Katie was ultra cool about the entire experience and working with her crazy photographer. We even popped in and talked to the curator in the mansion it was an awesome day!

Rockstar Roadtrip

I was able to go to Atlanta for one of the legs of the Rockstar Roadtrip featuring really amazing and fun photographers Corey McNabb and Amber Holritz. They are touring the country doing 1-2 day seminars sharing their style and approach to wedding and portrait photography.
Corey McNabb is from Asheville, NC and is one of Grace Ormonde's Top 100 Wedding Photographers in the US. Amber Holritz is part of the incredible husband and wife duo of Holritz Photography out of Chattanooga, TN. Amber is one of the nations most recognized Lifestyle Baby Photographers.
I have not been able to attend for many seminars this year other than Imaging USA. Not only are Corey and Amber amazing photographers and really great people to give their time to share their craft and talent with others they are also Nikon users just like me. It was really great to get their perspective and insight. PLUS...I won a raffle and was given a free album design and album from White Glove Books so hopefully this will be one of my new album companies I will be offering. Check out the Rockstar Roadtrip BLOG, Corey's website and Amber's Website and see the awesome work they are kicking out. They ROCK !!!!

Ashley & Russ Engagement Session

I am a little behind on my blogging so I will fill you in on the highlights. For this segment I had the opportunity to hang out with Ashley and Russ downtown at the Schermerhorn. It was really great weather and we were able to go up to 2nd Ave and over to the Pedestrian Bridge for some shots as well. It was a good day to be a photographer :-).

Bobby & Andrea Wedding Greenville, SC

Bobby and Andrea were married the past weekend in Greenville, SC. We had a fun weekend. I was able to be apart of their rehearsal, rehearsal dinner and be able to spend the entire day with them for their special day. The wedding was held at John Knox Presbyterian Church and then we went over to the Greenville Marriott Hotel for the reception. The hotel was beautifully decorated in a winter theme and as spectacular place to take pictures. Here are just a few of the many images Jana Candler and I were able to photograph. Jana came to help me and it was great to reconnect with her and be able to work together in her hometown. This was one of my favorite weddings to photograph this year it is always a blessing to be able to work with such great people from the family to the staff at the Marriott. Simply awesome.

Andrea's Bridal Portrait in Greenville, SC

I was priveledged to go back to Greenville, SC to take Andrea's Bridal portrait in the amazing Westin Poinsett Hotel. It is gorgeous hotel in the downtown Greenville area. It was built in the 1920's and was remodeled a few years ago and they did an great job restoring this beautiful place. Andrea and her mom Nevva were such a joy to work with and I love hanging out with them. We had a great time as you can see and were able to get some amazing photos. It was great to go back and work in the Poinsett again it has been a little over a year since I was there for another wedding.

Tiffiny & Ross Enagement Session

Tiffiny & Ross came into the Studio on Feb 2nd and we had a great time getting to know each other and hanging out. I was so glad that they could come in especially since Tiffiny drove up from Huntsville, AL where the wedding will be.  It was unusually warm but I don't believe we have had consistent weather in so long I am not really sure I could tell you what "normal" really is any more for this time of year. So we headed up to the Parthenon and we were only there for a short time because it was so windy and cold and it was like a mini-tornado around the park so we came back to the studio and did some really cool urban shots. I can't wait to go to Huntsville for the wedding, Tiffiny and Ross were so cool and were really great to work with and we are sure to have a great time together on the wedding day!

The beard is no more...

Well as you can see below I had a beard briefly and with many different comments and opinions from accolades such as Thumbs up and "Man that is so cool!!!" to not so positive reinforcement "Call me when you get rid of that thing so we can be friends again....". Well we had a great run and so to commemorate the short time we had together I created the pics below to show the gradual demise of my manhood. It is almost like watching the Hulk turn back into human form. Sad and uninteresting. Oh we shall meet again my old friend next year in the cold of the season.

It feels good to be stroking the butt chin again. HA! Yes these were taking on a hat day I know my hair can lay down it is amazing...CYA!!!
